November 5th over 3,000 of the people from across the world attended the "Money Makers" Party at Pacha in NYC.

Break-dance legend Turbo, aka Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp" Chambers performed his old school moves. It was a flashback to 1984's "Breakin" & of course "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo".

DJ Red Alert and Rob Base kept the classic hip-hop going throughout the night, and hip-hop legends Chuck Chillout and Positive K were also in the house.

Aside from the hot chicks in bikinis dancing in see-through showers and the break-dance showdown, the music and vibe were legendary.

Monday night, November 5th was an evening that celebrated heroes, and is now making the headlines.

Over 3,000 of the hottest people from across the world arrived at the three-floor club/lounge Pacha in New York City, to attend the "Money Makers Party" hosted by the recently launched edgy apparel company, Headlines and Heroes.

The guest list was anything but ordinary. Break-dance legend Turbo, aka Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp" Chambers, made an appearance wearing his H&H tee, and performed for the memorized crowd.It was an inspiring flashback to 1984's "Breakin" and it was clear that Turbo is still the man.

DJ Red Alert and Rob Base kept the vibe going throughout the night, and hip-hop legends Chuck Chillout and Positive K were also in the house.

The H&H party, sponsored by Grey Goose and Corzo Tequila, was on fire. Aside from the hot chicks in bikinis dancing in see-through showers in the lounge, and the break-dance showdown, the music was off the hook, and the place was packed with beautiful people.

If ever there was a reason to go out on a Monday night in the city, this was it.

Skribble is setting new standards on the dance floor, the recording studio, radio, television, and with the recent introductory of DJ Skribbles Spinheads and Skribbles Auto Spa, even in the toy and custom automobile industries! He is among dance-music's most respected and acclaimed DJs; a multi-media personality, visionary, actor, producer, and artist.

Skribble (a moniker derived from his graffiti/art school days) first came to prominence in the early 1990s as the founder of the Young Black Teenagers (YBT) with MCs Ata, Tommy Never, Firstborn and Kamron. Their acclaimed hard-core debut was cut with assistance from Public Enemy and The Bomb Squad. Young Black Teenagers, replete with cover art that brazenly spoofed Meet The Beatles, yielded several hits. The group also stirred a great deal of controversy as none of the members were actually black, though they fully supported African-American culture and politics. A sophomore effort, Dead End Kids Doin' Lifetime Bidz, incorporated the talents of The Bomb Squad, Keith Shocklee, and Grandmaster Flash, and included the band's signature hit "Tap The Bottle".

As a solo artist, Skribble has enjoyed enormous success based on a work ethic that embraces the most disparate musical genres along with the discerning instincts of a master musician. "There is no music or culture that is unacceptable to me" he emphasizes. "One night I'll be doing a rave, another night I may work a commercial college club, then I'll move on to underground house. That's why I'm constantly on the road." Skribble's craft, though sometimes underestimated, is in a constant state of evolution. "DJs like me first gained respect from the musical community when they saw the amazing response we received from the crowd." During Public Enemy's Fear Of A Black Planet tour, Skribble DJ-ed with alternative avant-garde rock super-group Primus long before it was acceptable to meld rock and electronica. Night after night Skribble battled bassist Les Claypool in a call and response free-for-all jam. "In concert, I'm always improvising, changing the beats, matching the records, and scratching over them. I play off a musical intellect to do that, because I actually change the rhythm and groove of a whole record." Skribble has also performed as a DJ with Anthrax, Biggie Smalls, Craig Mack, Channel Live, K7, and Artifacts, and shared the bill on a tour with the Chemical Brothers.

An avowed road warrior, Skribble logs in over 300 concert dates per year. He has also hosted a vast array of MTV programming: Spring Break, Fly 2K, Sisqo's Shakedown, Global Groove, MTV Jams, The Grind, and the Daily Burn. On radio, hes torn it up on Skribble's House (WKTU-FM in New York) and Hot 97's Morning Show with Ed Lover & Doctor Dre (WQHT-FM in New York). Additional appearances include TVs Showtime At The Apollo, the Off-Broadway hit Jam On The Groove, and the Broadway musical Hip Hop Wonderland.

Skribbles released over fourteen albums including Essential Dance 2000, Essential Spring Break 2001 (debut ..1 on Billboard's "Heatseekers" survey), Skribble's House, and his latest cd, a collaboration with DJ Anthony Acid, Reloaded. Skribble's top selling hip-hop mix compilation, Traffic Jams, included original contributions from artists including Run (of Run DMC), Busta Rhymes, Lauren Hill, Wyclef, and Prakazrel (The Fugees). When twin brothers decide to use their business savvy and eye for fashion toward shoe manufacturing, not only do they raise their pimp status with the "Sex in the City" crowd, but they get the most props from the over-30 working women, who are starting to consider trading in couture for comfort.

With a history in sneaker design and a keen eye for fashion, Shane & Shawn Ward combined their resources and created two footwear lines - Shane&Shawn and Detny by Shane&Shawn – designed to make men and women feel as good as they look. Their shoes have already made their way into top boutiques and department stores and, with plans to launch their own store and clothing/accessories line, they’re guaranteed to be around for as long as women stay sexy.

Can you give us a little background on your company?
Shane: Well, we both went to the University of Michigan, and I studied industrial design in the art school, and Shaun studied mechanical engineering, and when I graduated in 1996, I was offered a job at Adidas in Portland, Oregon, to design cross trainers, women’s workout shoes, and cleats...so that’s pretty much how we got into the industry. [Eventually] the entrepreneurial spirit kicked in, and I really wanted to work on my own, and I decided to start a freelance design company called SW2 Designs and move to NY.

Shawn: When I graduated, I spent five years [working] at Daimler Chrysler, in automotive engineering, while earning my master’s in mechanical engineering. In 2001, I moved to NY because I had the opportunities there to work for myself, become an entrepreneur, and trade stocks in the stock market as a day trader, [but] when the market was closing at 4 o’clock, besides working out, I had pretty much nothing to do, so I started to help Shane out with the freelance company and brought a little bit more of a business side of the operations. My goal was to really take Shane as a one man show and take it to a formal company and expand it, but in the next two years, we ended up designing shoes for Reebok, Converse, Merrill, etc. [With] a really successful freelance design company from 2001 to 2003, we decided to start our own shoe company that reflects our own sense of style, but also combines with the athletic comfort that we’ve had expertise in over the last three years. So, in fall of 2003 we launched Detny, which is a combination of Detroit and New York, where we’re from.

Women love shoes and women love the men who make the shoes, so how has your life adjusted to the career switch (from sportswear to high-end fashion)?

Shawn: It’s definitely an unfair advantage to introduce yourself to a young lady and say you’re a shoe designer. So, obviously, there aren’t too many cooler things that you can say outside of “I’m a rock star.” But usually, if you’re a rock star or an actor, they should know who you are, but as far as like a regular job, designers are really perceived as “cool”. I’m coming from engineering and stock trading, and those aren’t really glamorous jobs, but, you know, being in this field where women love shoes, we’re able to put our shoes on celebrities, and we get a chance to meet celebrities who really embrace our product. Just being in the footwear industry has definitely enhanced our lives big time...it’s definitely a perk.

Shane: We really are all about the kind of rock-n-roll lifestyle - going to parties, having fun - but we also have substance to our shoes, and I think that’s what brings people back. We actually get, like, old ladies - literally 60 year old women - coming in and telling us how comfortable our shoes are!

If you guys started out with sneakers, what made you branch into shoes? The women’s shoe industry is tough, especially for two straight guys – and, you know, women are picky!

Shane: Well, from a business standpoint, women buy shoes, men don’t -

Shawn: - Generally speaking -

Shane: So, we were forced into it from a business standpoint, but I think over the years we’ve definitely come to appreciate putting shoes onto women, like during our events. We hang around a lot of women, and we don’t wanna just outfit ourselves in what we think is the coolest, hippest shoes that are comfortable, but we would like the girls around us to wear what we think would be hot on them. Another thing is, because we have the athletic background, we know how to build really comfortable shoes, and we would see women in elevators all the time wearing their office gear, but then they have like, New Balance or Nike shoes on and their office shoes in their bags, so there was a need for a shoe that at least can combine the two extremes.

Any plans for the future – expanding your brand, opening your own store, etc.?

Shawn: We’re gonna place [Detny] as a lifestyle brand; footwear’s our expertise right now, so we’re really building our foundation on what we’re experts in, like Kenneth Cole did. But we’re also gonna be launching handbags and hats – limited edition – for fall 2007, and then eventually go on into jackets, denim, shirts, etc, and a part of our business plan is to open our first Detny/Shane&Shawn boutique in 2008.

From New York City comes Brian Morse, a DJ in the land of DJs.Brian has been able to stand out from the rest by always putting the crowd first. Pulling tracks from all house genres, Brian
keep dancefloors on edge with superior selection and timing. His dedication to pushing the music forward always provides for exciting mixes and live sets.

In 2006, Brian Morse celebrated his first major label release when his spec mix of Kaci Brown’s Unbelievable (Interscope US) was chosen to join remixes by Chris Cox and Mark Picchiotti. Amidst a full DJ schedule and job with NBC Universal, Brian
plans to focus on production work in 2007. In his new studio Hacienda del Marv, Brian looks to combine his musical talents. Both a drummer and guitar player, he was performing with bands before becoming a DJ. It was during college at Penn State
that he took to the turntables and he has not stopped DJing since.

They have been known to hold their members-only roundtables in elite hotels and events at high profile venues. Ladies and gentlemen, may we present what happens when you mix H&H with one of the founders of The Karma Foundation.

We always knew that the sentiment of generating positive energy will only create more positive energy. The Karma Foundation has utilized this principle and applied it in many areas including their attire ;-)

Eric Stotz (pictured here rocking H&H), one of the founders of the Karma Foundation along with James Pratt began the foundation back in 2005 with the goal of helping good people with good friends find professional and social advancement through philanthropic events.

In addition to tremendous parties, the foundation members also hold roundtable meetings to network and to discuss ways of benefiting worthy causes. Marvin Epstein, one of board of Governors of the Karma Foundation who is a board member on 5 charities himself exemplifies this initiative. The members prioritize philanthropic organizations that they believe may need support as more and more funds are diverted to natural disaster funds and the like. Members are generally successful, well-connected, good-hearted, and business-savvy. Their process to join the organization is by invitation from a founder or existing member. (For the
not-so-well-connected, one can also fill out an application and be considered for membership.)

The members of the worlds first web band, the ClipBandits, meet for the first time and perform on the Tyra Banks Show. Broadcast December 6, 2006. Lead Singer, J-pe$o of the Clipbandits wore our White Logo T on the show!

The world's first web band, the ClipBandits, return live from New York City, Los Angeles, Austin and Boston via the web to create another original song and video. "Higher" was once again created by syncing each other's video clips and without ever talking to each other.

ClipBandits' previous YouTube video "Internet Killed the Video Star" has been viewed over one million times and landed the ClipBandits on ABC World News, Good Morning America, a live performance on the Tyra Banks Show (air date Dec. 6 2006), was the #1 featured video by YouTube at the top of their main page, and was given an Honorable Mention in the Cingular YourTube Underground Contest. According to Wikipedia:
"Et tu, Brute?" were, according to legend, the last words of Julius Caesar. In English, the sentence means "You too, Brutus?" or "Even you, Brutus?".

On March 15, 44 BC, Julius Caesar was attacked by a group of senators, including Marcus Junius Brutus, a senator and Caesar's close friend. Caesar initially resisted his attackers, but when he saw Brutus, he supposedly spoke those words and resigned himself to his fate.

Probably the most famous 3 words uttered, "Et tu, Brute?", this expression has come to mean ultimate betrayal by one's closest friend(s).

The phrase is often misquoted as "Et tu, Brutus?" Brute is the Latin vocative form of Brutus, used when directly addressing the individual in question. The nominative form, Brutus, would be used in a sentence such as "Brutus killed Caesar", where Brutus is the grammatical subject of a verb.

One day, Kiser Barnes got up, got to work on his clothing line, and realized something both strange and exciting: Kanye Wes t was wearing his shirt. The hip-hop icon had been given one of Kiser's designs by a DJ friend, and loved it so much that he wore it while hosting MTV's "Total Request Live". For a down-to-earth guy that says he "hasn't really been chasing celebrities" to endorse his designs, it was a pretty big coux for Kiser.

Kiser's shirts and hoodies for both men and women have also been popping up in articles and holiday gift guides for numerous magazines, including Cargo, Nylon, GQ, and Complex. There was another surprise appearance when Kiser's DJ buddy wore one of his shirts on the cover of URB magazine.

Even without worrying whose highly-publicized back is sporting his shirts, Kiser is a pretty busy entrepreneur. The former graphic designer began his line (also named "Kiser") in late 2004 with a partner, but has since taken over most or all responsibilities. What began as a Soho sidewalk sale for tourists soon warped into a full-scale occupation. Despite being a fashion rookie, Kiser successfully got his bright and graphically beautiful shirts into stores around the world. He also does business out of an immaculately designed online store, for the transportation-impaired.

So, what's the attraction with the designs? And why T-shirts? "The concept is different from a lot of stuff that's out there right now," says the designer, who cites a childhood spent in Africa as one of his many influences. He looks at everything from (streetwear line) Modern Amusement to Sonia Rykiel for inspiration, but generates a look that is inimitably his own. Kiser hopes to collaborate on a line of sneakers in the near future, and considers "a graphic life" as his motto for the designs that are equal parts skatewear, cyber-cool, and big-pimpin'. T-shirts start at $30.

So, what's it like doing what you love for a living? "Sometimes I question it," admits Kiser. "But sometimes I wake up and it's like "I have the best life. I have an impact on popular culture."

We are looking for fresh new designers for our Apparel. If you think you have what it takes to give people a new identity with our style then lets see it. We are going to be selecting the best designs and styles from candidates from NYC. If we choose your design you will be awarded a pre determined payment for your design and a chance to design for us on a more permanent level.

Send us some samples of your previous artwork that you have done. if we are into your style then we'd like to see some renderings of something that fits our brand.

Submission Legal Terms & Conditions
H&H retains exclusive rights to the submitted design, if chosen, for printing and selling on clothing. H&H also retains rights to the design itself for use on the H&H website, and any H&H promotional material.

The participant will keep ownership of the submitted design. The participant may display or archive the design in a portfolio or personal collection, but may not sell or reproduce the design for commercial purposes until 1 year after submission. In addition, during this period, the participant cannot submit the design to another company to be potentially produced. Once this time frame has passed, if the design was not chosen for print by H&H the participant is free to use the design for commercial purposes, however the participant must email H&H to notify where and when it will be produced so that it can be removed from the H&H website. Also, if the design is printed elsewhere, the participant cannot use the H&H name to promote the product or another company.

The Design must be the participant's own original work and may not have been previously published. The Design may not contain the trademarks, logos, copyrighted works or intellectual property of any third parties, or any material, which H&H in its sole discretion deems to be profane or offensive.

The selected design may be reworked by professional designers to prepare it for use. This usually results in small color changes or size changes.

Participants who, in the opinion of H&H , do not comply with these guidelines can at any time be excluded from the running without notification of reason.

The decisions of H&H are final and binding.

The Jib Hunt Interview - Lifestyle Apparel

Graphic Tees have been all the rage in fashion for sometime now, and Jib Hunt is at the forefront of the fashion movement. The fashion and lifestyle brand designer has been an active snowboarder for 20 years, which is probably one of the things that keeps him so in touch with youth culture. In addition to designing hip and edgy clothing, Jib Hunt is also a successful commercial illustrator, working in marketing with corporations such as Virgin Mobile.

Despite his success in commercial marketing, it’s easy to see that Jib Hunt belongs in fashion. His summer 2006 collection consists of some pretty neat artwork on comfortable mens’ tees, many of which pay homage to New York City, where his company is based. In addition to that, war seems to be a popular theme in his current line; many of his shirts have pictures of guns and grenades. And of course, he didn’t forget the ever popular skull t-shirt.

We sat down with Jib Hunt to find out the deal from the man himself:

1.What was his motivation to create the war themed t-shirts?

I have always had an interest in the military and military related technology and themes since I was a little kid. When I worked at Burton, the Analog collection was heavily military themed and that mindset has stayed with me since.

2.What type of message does he hope to put out with those, if any?

All of my artwork is open to interpretation. It’s not pro war or anti-war. The meaning of the artwork is different for everyone. That’s my approach to all my artwork.

3. What is his creative process, how does he decide which designs to produce and which ones not to?

I usually break my graphics into themes for each season. There will usually be 2-3 themes that all the graphics fall into.

4. When he first started his line, how did he go about getting his merchandise into the stores?

I have built up my name through the year’s as an Illustrator and Sportswear Designer and I have also had many relationship with shops through the action sports industry. It’s a matter of getting the right stuff in front of the right people. When people understand what you are doing, they buy into it and once you get a couple retailers, it’s easier to get others.

5. Where does you get your inspiration?

My inspiration comes from lots of things...military, music, culture, history, technology, people, traveling, etc. I am always keeping my eyes and ears open.
